Here at TNT Nutrition, we work with all types of goals, weight loss being numero uno. Losing weight for the long-term is not easy, hence why we try all the quick fixes we can before we come to the realization that it’s really a matter of making lifestyle changes. It’s a very personal journey as well, which can be intimidating too. Julia is a wonderful, (and one of the funniest) clients I’ve personally worked with, and I consider her a good friend. I’m very proud of all of her accomplishments, and am honored to have been a part of her unique journey. Here is her story:
As with a lot of women who are in their 40s, I began experiencing physical changes that were not leading to a good overall quality of life. Weight gain was affecting my blood pressure, cholesterol, activity levels, even my sleep. While I was on medication for blood pressure I had avoided cholesterol medication but it was getting closer to the time when I would have to go on it. I have battled weight my entire life and the things that I did in my 20s to control weight were not working in my 40s. I wasn’t happy with my appearance and with how I was feeling. Fortunately, I was involved with TNT Fitness so my body fat wasn’t as sky high as it could have been but it wasn’t great. But through TNT Fitness I became aware of a program that they offered, TNT Nutrition. Like most people, I heard it and instantly thought the following: “that’s not for me”; “I don’t need a nutritionist”; and everyone’s favorite: ”I know how to lose weight, I just have to do it.” So I continued to endure stepping on the scale and watching my weight slowly creep higher. After griping to my very patient trainer, he asked me if I had considered contacting TNT Nutrition. I told him it had crossed my mind. He suggested that I do so and that was the end of the conversation. About two weeks later I knew I was reaching the point where something had to be done and if I didn’t do it now it was never going to happen. So, I contacted them. And as my TNT trainer accurately predicted, it, and my coach Shelby, has changed my life. I was provided a food plan that was “real food” and easy to follow and I recognized immediately this would be something that I could follow for a lifetime. The options are endless and you are not eating diet food. I was provided webinars that really taught me the science behind nutrition and how meals should be put together. These are things that I never knew and realized immediately not having these tools prevented me from losing weight. My weekly phone conversations with Shelby provided great support and information in addition to being enjoyable. I look forward to my weekly phone check-ins with Shelby! As a result, between the months of August and December I have lost 25 pounds, have reduced my cholesterol by almost 40 points (without medication!!!)
Overall cholesterol dropped from 212 to 173 / HDL went up from 55 to 60 / Triglycerides went down from 140 to 115 / LDL went down from 129 to 86
I also have reduced my body fat by almost 10%, have begun getting better sleep and feeling more rested and energized, and have taken 100 pounds of pressure off of my knees which translates into better mobility. Not to mention the fact that I can fit into my smaller jeans again. With my new weight goal I plan on having these jeans be my transition jeans! The hardest part in all of this is recognizing that you need help and making that first phone call. Shelby and TNT Nutrition are out there and waiting for you. And it works!
